I need to drink my big glass of lemon water this morning and get hydrated before I keep writing.

• The body needs water to survive and for energy, and sometimes when we are feeling tired it is just because we haven’t drunk enough water.

I have to work today for about two hours online and then I am going to get some fresh air and do a beach meditation to try and find some answers in life. I get answers sometimes during the silence of meditation and it helps guide me in the direction that my heart wants. My cooling supplier meditates each day and she is one of the calmest souls you will ever meet. She also teaches it in local businesses in town and I learned a lot from going there a few times a week, but now I meditate at home next to my whole home air purifier because it really drowns out any noises from outside. I have a Buddha saying in front of me when I am working to calm me down and bring me back to the moment when my mind starts to wander. Today I am going to do more singing on the beach and try to find the voice that I want to bring out in my songs when I sing in our band. There is another level I can hit, kind of like my air conditioning system when it is turned on high. It blasts a lot more cold air out than the lowest level setting, which is the same with my voice that I am holding back on.

I am getting my brain in gear this morning and working on some stuff online for a while before I go to the coast for my swim.

Today is my buddy’s birthday party on the beach and I think I may bring my sound system so that we can do some singing for the party.

There will be a few musicians there and I have a new drum that needs to be used, so why not bring the sound and see what happens? I will invite some other friends to come and we may as well make a bash. Climate control is not going to be necessary because it is the start of April and the days are still pretty cool, especially later in the evening when this party is, but maybe sitting by a fireplace after the sun goes down would be a good idea. It gets quite cold when the sun drops because it is really humid here and the humidity magnifies the hot and the cold each day and night. My furnace is still running now and then at night, a bit more now because my hot water heater broke and after taking a cold shower it is nice to have some heating in the flat to warm up the cold skin and bones. I am going to write off tomorrow right now because I have a feeling this party is going to go until the wee hours of the night with this group of characters coming together. I will tell the local contractor that I won’t be in to work tomorrow because of an eye infection, as; “I can’t SEE myself coming into work tomorrow”!

I just got invited to a birthday party on the beach later for my friend who hits 44 on the 4th of the 4th month, and the party’s at, wait for it…4:44 pm today.

I am going to bring my sound system and drum and a guitar player is joining us so it should be a good time.

I will invite this pretty blonde Spanish lady if I see her today, but first I need to talk myself into asking her to come with us. I’ve seen her a lot at this local business when I pass and didn’t feel anything, but after doing a music set next door for this local contractor she seems to be more interested in me, or maybe I am just delusional but I need to give myself some credit. I think she is about 40 years old, which goes well with our four themed party tonight, so she is in the realm of my age of 55 I guess. I work near her at the HVAC company and thought she was married but apparently not, so maybe I’ll go clean her HVAC system for free so that I can try to talk some with her. The reason I say try to talk with her is that she doesn’t speak any English and my Spanish is pretty bad, but maybe she would be willing to teach me some and help me out. I’ve been out of the dating pool for over a year and don’t want to wait too long or I’ll be an old man living alone with two black cats!

I am almost done with my work online and then I will take a break and just chill for a little while. Today is a quiet day in town as it is Monday and all of the tourists who were here yesterday are back in their normal lives and working at their jobs. I am going to rest most of the day and I will probably go to this music store and check out a drum for sale and decide if I should get it. It is a little drum and I want it for when I play at local businesses, because my big drum is way too big to tote around. I think I have enough money to get it today, but if I have to wait another couple of weeks it won’t be a big deal. My heating supplier guitarist is away for a couple of weeks doing some HVAC repairs on his condo, so I won’t need that little drum for a little bit longer. I would like to have it when we do a gig for this new contractor at his house, and I think he has a fireplace out on his back patio that we can play beside that night to stay warm. It is April now but the warm weather won’t really be here for another month or so, so having some heat while we play at night is a good thing because my hands don’t do well drumming when they are ice cold. But I have a little heating device I use to warm my hands if he has no fire in the fireplace that night.

I have to pay my rent soon and am going to deduct some equipment that I had to buy for the flat, which means that the owner of my building will probably start chirping about how he shouldn’t have to pay for it himself.

They don’t like to pay for anything over here in Spain when it comes to repairs in the apartment, which is something that has been going on a long time in this country.

In the States, when something breaks in one of my rental homes I normally pay for it without an issue, especially hot water heaters like mine here, which comes with the building and should be covered by the owner. For some reason though he seems to think the renter should pay for stuff like that and not the owner of the building. I think that the owner should fix anything that came with the building when it was built, including hot water boilers and heating and air conditioning systems. The other appliances in the flat like the fridge and washing machine I have no problem paying for myself if they break, but the other stuff needs to be covered by the owner like they do in all of the other countries who treat their renters fairly. I will go to the HVAC business later today and ask the heating and cooling rep owner what he thinks about this deal. I bet he says that the owner has to pay for anything that is attached to the building like water heaters and HVAC systems.

I am getting close to finishing my work for the day and then I am going to take a little nap.

We played 12 games of volleyball yesterday and my partner and I are both totally rinsed today.

I popped an ibuprofen and had some cold gel on my knees to try and help with the pain. I also have to workout later today with my other friend, so needless to say I have some rest to do before that time comes. I still have two more hours to get my work done and take a nap with my air purifier, which serves as a white noise machine to drown out the noises around the area. I will probably just rest and not sleep, but that is also fine because my body needs all the rest it can get right now. I have a small heating device in my room that I need to box up, as winter is fading the temps are starting to heat up, making me think about cleaning the a/c system before I turn it on for the season. I will be fine for another month or so though because it heats up gradually here in this town and not so abruptly like back home in the south where I am from. I will go to the local business later tomorrow and buy a HEPA filter for the system so that I am ready for all of that pollen that comes from the oak trees around this time of the year. It should be a nice month.

I am learning about loss and hopefully won’t have to learn a lot more, as I have lost a lot of things lately and need a little breather from losing any more

How is it that some people have all of the confidence in the world while others seem to be afraid of their own shadow? I guess maybe it comes down to how you were brought up and what kind of parents you had. Well, my early years were a bit chaotic as my parents got divorced when I was three years old and I jumped around from place to place with my single mom and brother. My poor HVAC rep mom had to work all day and try to raise two little kids on her own while my cooling specialist dad was out there trying to find himself. Dad wrote a couple poetry books when he was in a dark place after leaving my mom and he was just trying to piece together what had happened to his once happy family. He was also trying to be a new contractor in town, selling heating and cooling equipment door to door back in the early 70’s. I still can’t believe that my dad is gone as it just hasn’t sunk in that he will never be around to answer my calls anymore. He always answered the phone when I called the HVAC company that he owned, and I find myself sometimes calling the heating business only to find out the number has been disconnected. I am learning about loss and hopefully won’t have to learn a lot more, as I have lost a lot of things lately and need a little breather from losing any more. A year ago, our routine HVAC cabin services heating repair was done just before winter.

• The HVAC tech recommended replacing the worn-out ductwork if we wanted to save on energy plus avoid future heating repair because there were evident wear plus tear on the ducts.

I wondered why we couldn’t do duct sealing like we had done before in a previous heating device servicing visit. The HVAC serviceman mentioned that given that the sealant had not held on well plus there were new tears, the only long-term solution would be a upgradement. It’s wild that the ducts were getting worn out, yet the boiler was still easily functional, but we were told that we installed a poor-quality duct according to the heating industry standards. My pal and I had bought the cabin when it was already done, so we had no way of ensuring that everything installed was top quality, but thankfully, the quality problems only seemed to affect one part of the heating technology. I hoped fixing the duct issue would offer a permanent solution because the heating contractor expert had a point, doing repairs by sealing every season was not working, plus we needed to stop thinking about the issue permanently or at least for a while longer. I did not need a second opinion because the specialist was reputable, plus I haven’t had reasons to doubt their recommendations. My pal and I also needed to upgrade the digital control unit, which had trouble self-regulating. During a random banter with the specialist, he told me we were great candidates for the heat pump plus provided information about it. I am considering it not only because it saves me the trouble of ducts but also seems more energy efficient, despite the fact that I need to research more about it before making final decisions.

The global crisis has taught me some expensive plus necessary life hacks; One of the lessons was that it is not safe to put all my eggs in one basket in terms of income, then i have worked as an HVAC tech with a contractor for a few years.

The task is good, plus I cherish it, despite the fact that I need another side hustle running.

I would employ someone to person the side hustle as I focus on my main hustle. I have been talking with my friend, a outdated HVAC serviceman, about a business venture that involves providing cabin services to learning institutions, my pal and I noticed a gap in providing affordable services to learning institutions, especially public ones. There are heating devices available, but they are either small for the schools or expensive. Our business would be solely dealing with learning institutions. My pal and I would have our heating contractor supply heating repair to school boilers. The price tag on our services would be standardized to meet the financial capability of the public learning institutions, however some heating repairs we would handle include duct sealing plus installing ductwork. Since schools occupy large spaces, we expect some schools to purchase geo heat pumps. My pal and I will set up financial assistance for such large appliances. One of the most popular regulators includes the digital control units that will regularly be available. My pal and I aim to make an impact in the heating industry. My pal and I plan on taking the heating technology to the learning institutions. My partner plus I are done with the preparations, and after we get the necessary licenses, we shall commence the business.

When my friend and I ordered our mini split ductless HVAC system, I asked my fiance not to tell his sibling about the HVAC system.

I wasn’t trying to keep it a secret, although I knew how my fiance and his sibling were.

If his sibling came over while the boxes were still in the house, they would be opened. Once those boxes were opened, neither me nor God would be able to stop them from playing with the parts and considering installing one or all of the HVAC units. He gave me a dirty look, but he could not understand what the immense secret was about. I told him to invite him and his wifey over after the mini split ductless HVAC system was installed, and they could experience its heat and air conditioner with us. I then reminded him what happened when they delivered our 78 inch television set. They took it out of the box, and broke the screen while trying to figure out how to use the touch screen gaming system that was already installed. The entire television set had to be factory reset by the people who were to set the television up for us. I didn’t want this to happen with our new HVAC system. If he showed up when the HVAC system was being installed, he would want to be helping the HVAC techs detach the air duct and the old HVAC system. I just thought the entire process would go easier if he and his sibling weren’t in the apartment together! As much as he didn’t want to, he agreed with me.
