Having an older brother who believes he knows everything is enough to drive you mad! Moving to a new career takes courage, especially at a certain age.

I worked in the hospitality industry for numerous years.

In fact, I began waitressing while still in high school, and knew this was what I wanted to do with my life. Things were amazing, and I was working for a top diner in the city. However, the pandemic was an eye opening time, and I saw the fragility of this industry. When things are tough, diners, hotels, and travel are the first to suffer. I wanted an industry with more stability, and began to do my research. I did manage to get some writing gigs for remote jobs during quarantine and this is when I was first introduced to the heating, ventilation, and A/C industry. Through the various articles I was writing, I began to research more about heating and cooling, and working as an actual heating, ventilation, and A/C repair expert. Then, one time I had a conversation with an actual heating, ventilation, and A/C expert about his job. He’d come to my house in 2021 to do cooling repair after a year of not doing any due to the spine-chilling conditions. While he finally helped ensure my cooling system was in the best condition, he talked to me about his job, where he went to school, and how it has been for him. Then, after he left, I checked out the school, and by the end of the week I was enrolled. My dad had to pay half the costs, and I catered for the rest. I still had my heating, ventilation, and A/C writing gig, and also got my hours back at the diner, however I knew this time I wasn’t staying for long. It’s been two challenging years however I can finally say I am a qualified heating, ventilation, and A/C repair expert, and the future is bright.

Queen and I met when my associate and I had gone for this brunch event in the city.

While I do like clubs and bars, I enjoy not going there when I’m new to a section to try and meet friends. Instead, I chose the brunch since it was women only and in an attractive pricey hotel. This is where I ran into Queen, the most bubbly and energetic person I have ever met. My friend and I became fast friends and even started hanging out after brunch. Queen works for a local digital SEO firm, and moved to the section to be the person in charge. I am a HR manager for a local law firm, and my associate and I got to bond so much about our lives. The Queen had moved to the section a year before me, and she purchased a house. The house was in an attractive location, and I loved going to see her when my associate and I were both free for the afternoon. Last summer, my associate and I planned a night indoors in our pajamas watching this series that was new to Netflix… Unluckily, our plans were held up by a faulty cooling system. The Queen had asked me to pass by the store to get a few things since she was working from home. While at the store, she called to say her cooling system had failed, and the heating, ventilation, and A/C expert was on his way. The only issue was he hadn’t given her a set time for when he’d arrive at the house. I got there and my associate and I waited for an hour for the heating, ventilation, and A/C expert to arrive. He had other appointments to finish, then he came by to repair the cooling system and save our motion picture night.

Dad’s new arena is amazing, especially during the summer.

I’m not advocating for divorce, however at times it is the best outcome after a relationship breaks. He and my mom had been together for 2 decades, and they seemed to have run out of time. So, they chose to part ways, amicably, and begin their new lives. My dad always wanted to live in a lake house by this charming lake that is in our area. But, mom wanted a bungalow in the suburbs, so that is where my associate and I lived for numerous years. Finally, after the divorce and all the teenagers residing their lives, it was time for dad to do what he wanted with his life. And that was to buy a lake house and a boat. My teenagers love that lake house, and my associate and I make it a point to visit him often, especially when the weather is nice so they can go fishing. My friend and I also visit during winter. Last winter, dad was having complications with the heat in his lake house. He’d hired an actual heating, ventilation, and A/C company in the section for assistance, and they sent an actual heating, ventilation, and A/C worker to take a look. The guy claimed he’d sorted out the issue, and left when the heating machine was running well. However, two nights later, it was back to emitting little heat to keep the lake house warm. Since my fiance is an actual heating, ventilation, and A/C corporation, my associate and I decided to drive there one weekend and sort out this issue for dad. It turns out there were faulty parts that needed to be replaced before the heating machine was good to use again. I also took a space heating system for dad to use in case that ever happened again during winter.

Olivia and her twin brother Duke have always been close.

Well, you kind of have to be really close considering you are the only children, and are twins. Some twins chose to live separate lives, while still remaining close. But, from a young age, Olivia and Duke have loved to do what the other wants and likes. If Olivia wants to go to the park, Duke would want the same. If Duke didn’t want any vegetables with his meals, Olivia would also push them away. This behavior totally drove their parents nuts, however it was also how they kept one another company growing up. In school, they hang out together with other friends. But, they never split off into strange neighbor groups. In high school, Duke announced that he wanted to become a heating and cooling worker like their Grandfather. Olivia had also been wondering what to become after high school, and this is how she made up her mind. Since Duke finally wanted to become a heating and cooling worker, she’d also do the same. Their parents knew better than to try and convince them otherwise, so they let them attend heating, ventilation, and A/C school in their hometown. Later, they both absolutely graduated and managed to get their heating, ventilation, and A/C certification. For the first time, they found themselves working for strange companies, however at least they shared the same profession and saw each other on the regular. Working as heating and cooling workers is turning out to be a good gig and they both have no regrets choosing to go to heating, ventilation, and A/C school.

When Kyla and Damon met, they were simply both struggling in life, however it was their drive to make it that drew them together.

Damon went to work as a bartender at this bar, and Kyla was among the wait staff.

One slow night, they got to chat, and also hung out on their nights off. Their boss organized for them a small two afternoon retreat for doing amazing work during the busy holidays. This was in December when work was slow, and they could close the bar for two nights. During that retreat, Kyla and Damon became closer, kissed, and began dating. Now, 5 years later, they own their own bar, and are doing amazing in life. They even have a baby on the way, and have managed to purchase another home in the city. Damon wanted them to get a house in the suburbs, however Kyla is a neighborhood dweller, so they agreed this was the best arena for them. There wasn’t much to do to the home when they moved in apart from changing air filters. The building manager came by an afternoon later to inform them they were in charge of this, and not handling the heating and cooling system. The property management would handle concerns such as repair and repair for the heating and cooling system; then changing air filters every two months works well for them since they enjoy having the best indoor air quality. They’ve really come far in life and have a bright future ahead.

But, I was so wrong.

I didn’t know I was also setting myself up to endure heat waves when my associate and I relocated. I was just happy to leave the freezing winters behind and appreciate sundresses until later in the year. Look, I love my home state, however the winters are a nightmare, but recently, it’s been a bit warmer, however not sizzling enough to walk around without a winter coat. This is the life I grew up in as my parents both lived and worked in the area. They were also born in this same state, and I think I felt I wanted to see what else is out there. It’s strange traveling to arenas for a short time then getting back to your respected life. Moving helps you embrace new ways of life, and also teaches you perhaps the other arena wasn’t that bad. When my associate and I moved, my associate and I got this amazing house that was a new-build and came with all the latest appliances and devices. This also included the most amazing A/C I have ever seen. I’ve worked for an actual heating, ventilation, and A/C company before so I know a little bit about heating and cooling systems. The house had the latest AC, and the realtor said this was crucial during the heat waves. I’d never experienced a heat wave, so I thought it was just normal sizzling summer time heat. But, I was so wrong. The amazing A/C helped us get through the worst heat wave the section has ever recorded. And the entire time I was legitimately longing for the brutal freezing winters of up north. My partner seriously kept laughing at me each time I’d say this, however I didn’t see anything funny at all.
