Shoe storage has always been a headache in my household.

For starters, I don’t really have an entryway.

You basically walk into my library. I bought a shoe cubby that you set your shoes in the desired hole and it is out of the wya. My husband was horrible about this. He kept sitting on the cubby to take off his shoes. He is over 200 pounds and the cubby was cheap. I kept seeing him in my mind bursting through it. I then upgraded to a standing rack that we set shoes on. My husband never would put his shoes on it. He simply kicked them off in front of it or even worse, left them in front of the door for me to trip on. I needed something that looked good, functioned well, but was easy to store shoes. I really had no idea what I wanted. Online proved to be useless. Everything suggested was either ugly or like a million dollars. I ended up talking with a custom furniture builder for shoe rack ideas. The guy was incredible at coming up with a solution. He designed a bench that had pull out storage for the shoes. You could hook your foot on the rack to pull it out and take off your shoe. It was easy, convenient, and it looked great. The bench was all wood and able to hold my husband when he sat on it. I love the look of it in my house. I know I need somewhere to put our coats that look good.

Now that it is a new year, I figured I would set some resolutions. One of those resolutions is to be a better person. I think I can accomplish this by doing many things. One of those things is donating clothes that I do not wear, doing volunteer work, and educating myself more with books. By educating myself more with books I want to work on my mind. I want to produce a healthier mind. I do not want one that is filled with technology. I want to have less screen time. One technology piece that I will keep on using is my HVAC system. I stay up to day with the most recent systems. It is technology but we need it. It also benefits my health if I let it. I can install a humidifier, a dehumidifier, an air purifier and a ventilation system. I can have all of these things if I really want them. They will all benefit my overall health. It mostly benefits my physical health in affecting my breathing air. By installing each one of those systems I can ask for better skin, furniture and better air. The air quality of my home can increase immensely just from these things. I have contacted an HVAC business already. I set up an appointment to have them come to my house. I will need them to size my house so that I can properly install the right equipment. It seems as if this year is going to be a great year for me. I cannot wait to improve my overall health.

There is never a good time to tell someone bad news.

Sometimes people will wait a long time to tell someone bad news.

This is because they are waiting for a good moment. I think the sooner you tell someone the better. You need to tell them so they know and can move on. They need to move on as soon as possible. You hear the bad news and then you decide what you are going to do. I do not care how bad of a mood I am in. My HVAC technician does not always have good news for me. QUite often he has bad news for me. That is what I call him for though. I know that there is bad news. One day he delivered some pretty bad news to me about my system. There was a compressor part that needed to be replaced. It had been broken for awhile and caused other parts to become defective as well. I would not have known this though because I could not see any signs of something wrong. Anyway, he told me that to fix the system and to replace the parts it would cost a lot of money. If I wanted the system to work properly the money would have to be spent. I spent the money and moved on. I tried to decide how I was going to budget my money for the rest of the month. Spending unexpected money is not ideal. Regular tune ups usually take care of the problem of Extra spending money went down the drain towards my HVAC system

Don’t you think it is great when you have people that will do things for you? I love it when my mom makes me dinner.

I like that I can go out to dinner and have other people cook for me.

Sometimes my boyfriend even cooks for me. I really love it. My life is pretty busy so when someone does something for me I love it. I would love to have enough money to have maids or service at my house. I think that would be so nice. When I had to replace my HVAC system, the only thing I had to do was make a decision. I really just needed a new cooling system. I had to decide what type of cooling system I would want to have. I had a central air conditioning system before. I kept the same one. I can afford to pay the energy bills each month to cool the whole house. I wanted to just leave my air ducts alone. I really did not want to go through the hassle of taking them out. The best part about this was that they did the whole installation. I had two HVAC technicians at my house. They wanted to get the job done quicker so they sent two of them. That was fine by me. I watched them install the new system. It was great that I did not have to do a thing. I only needed to make that single decision. I have been happy with my new system ever since that time I needed it replaced.

Have you ever wanted time to stand still? I do not want life to move so fast.

I wish that I could make those moments I love last a little longer.

I want there to be a universal remote for life. I feel like my life is a movie sometimes. It would nice to be able to fast forward or pause. There are certain times that I do not like but I make it through those times. One time I was not happy was when I was having HVAC problems. I wanted to be able to like freeze time or something. I knew it was getting old and would need to be replaced. I did not want to spend money on that though. I just wanted to keep putting it off longer and longer. I wanted it to last but I knew it wouldn’t. I had no remote for life. I called and HVAC technician. I wanted him to confirm that I needed a new system. I was right that I needed a new one. I looked at all of my options very carefully. There were many things I could do. On thing I was excited for was the new heat pump I was getting. It would save me so much money. The heat pump uses the heat in the air to warm and cool my house. To warm my house it finds the warmth within the air and uses that. To cool my house it takes out the warm air and exhausts it out of the house. Either way I choose to do this it works perfectly.

When’s our first occupant moved in my pal and I realized that my pal and I no longer had the ability to adjust the temperature on their side and my pal and I found out that they were using way more energy than my pal and I had done.

Owning rental properties can be a fantastic thing for investing in the future! However, when you live in a double and rent out the other half, it can be a hassle as well. This is mostly because you see your occupant on a afternoon-to-day basis and know everything that they are doing. If you hear a loud crash or see something that is disfigurementd you may tend to overreact. This is the case with my partner and I because when my pal and I decided to purchase our first household my pal and I knew my pal and I wanted something that would help spend money the mortgage. My pal and I decided that purchasing a duplex was our best choice and for the most part it has been. The rental agreement that my pal and I have with our occupant includes the cost of heating and that became a problem, then when my pal and I first bought condo my pal and I were renovating it so my pal and I knew that heating both spaces was luxurious however felt that it could be kept under control. My pal and I decided to talk to her Heating as well as A/C contractor and see if there was some way to have a programmable system put in that my pal and I could adjust when needed. My pal and I had a talk with the occupant and told her that my pal and I would be controlling the temperature and ask them what they wanted it set at. When she told us that she would like her house to be at 72° my pal and I told her that was insufficient, she did not like the cold Winters however my pal and I told her that if she wanted her venue to be that hot she would have to spend money her own energy cost. This made a giant difference in her choice and she agreed to keep it at 72 instead.

Working as a salesman is tough. Most times people just shut you down before you have the time to really present your products to them. I can’t say as I blame them because there are so numerous scams out there that people have become skeptical of anyone that wants their cash. My task is a bit strange too because I work in Marketing for an Heating as well as A/C supplier. When a client is in need of a new or replaced system it is my task to go out and access the space then make recommendations based on their needs. Just walking in the door my customers know that it is going to cost upwards of a thousand dollars in numerous cases. Many people are not looking forward to spending the cash however know that it is a necessary thing. There is one recognizable system that I try to sell that takes a bit more convincing. In my opinion radiant flooring is the best way to go when it comes to complete comfort in a home. There are no messy HVAC ducts to keep clean, dust is at a minimum because the air is not blowing around all the time and the days of cold drafty floors are in the past once the system is installed. The system also requires little maintenance. The drawback of the replacement is that flooring must be changed in order to put the system in. The upfront expense and hassle of doing this is a difficult sell for sure. I try to stress the efficiency of the system and how fantastic the property will feel with nice even heating and in some cases this works. Many times people will at least consider it however in the end simply don’t want to make that major of a change.

When finding something online is so straight-forward, why should you take the time to travel to the store to find the best deal.

The same can be said for suppliers to do the work for you.

They are everywhere and on so many sites that there is no reason to go meet with them at their office. To me that just seems like a waste of time and gas in my car. I put out a request for bids on re-insulating my attic and fixing the leaks in the HVAC duct that was up there. I explained what I was looking for in detail and then let people supply me quotes on completing the job. Of course I went with the lowest bid, wouldn’t you? Well I have had nothing however headaches since that time. Not only did the guy show up two days late, he has not finished the job respectfully and the cost is more than he estimated. My family is furious at me and my child keeps telling me that the guy seems sketchy. He said that he worked for a local Heating and Air Conditioning corporation and was doing the job on the side to make extra money. He also said that he could get the replacement parts for the HVAC duct at cost, none of that turned out to be true. When I started to feel something was up I called the corporation and asked about him and they said they had fired him long ago. As much as I hated to disclose that I had made a mistake in hiring him I absolutely had no choice. I needed to make sure that my family was safe and the job was done respectfully. I fired the guy I had hired and contacted the person that was listed on a locale that was insured, had a five star rating and many buyer reviews that were favorable.

Often times, when people are feeling uncomfortably warm it has more to do with the amount of moisture in the air instead of the temperature.

It can be as warm as eighty degrees however if the humidity is low, you can feel legitimately comfortable. This is why when people transfer to the Southwest they constantly say it is a “dry heat”. I am not sure I agree with the fact that one hundred degrees is comfortable without humidity even though I get their point. In my own home I have found that simply turning on the dehumidifier on a warm Summer morning eliminates the need for the air conditioning. In fact, when I run the entire system the home absolutely feels too cold in some cases. Simply removing excess moisture is absolutely all that is needed. When I had my current Heating and Air Conditioning system installed I made sure to add on a powerful dehumidifier that could be operated independently. I know that the respected A/C removes moisture too however it also artificially cools the air. I don’t absolutely like going from the temperature outside to a cold cold house. I would set the temperature to seventy however on a ninety degree morning it felt like I was walking into an ice box. I found that simply running a dehumidifier, at the time a portable one, seemed to make it cool however tolerable. Not everyone agrees with this and most people just like the air conditioning and that is good too. I did find that using this component saved me money during the Summer months to so it could be worth looking into for your own home.
