There are regularly trends coming as well as going, as well as it regularly starts the same.

I called the air conditioner company that specializes in heating repair, & busy an appointment for tomorrow morning. When the morning came, & the air conditioner professional arrived, I made him aware of the issue, & he decided to take a look at our ductwork. It was a ductwork problem. The ductwork had several unusual holes in it, & that was causing all of the heated air to escape outside. I was cheerful that at least that was an straight-forward fix, unlike a central oil furnace problem. So, I paid for duct sealing, & the a/c tech was able to do the ductwork sealing in the same morning, and ever since then, I have not had a problem, & none of our friends comment on our cabin being cold anymore. Such a simple repair, & it was cheap too, and definitely worth it if it means having our cabin warm & comfortable again.

I thought that having a lot of windows in my house would be phenomenal, but that was before the builders finished the project.

Now that I have been living in my custom house for over six months, I understand how the windows can be problematic.

First of all, even though I have a security system in my home, it’s daunting to think of all the points of entry for a random intruder. It’s one of those daunting thoughts that comes to me in the middle of the night while I’m trying to wind myself down to go to sleep. It’s hard to get a good night’s sleep when you’re super paranoid about random break-ins occurring while you’re knocked out. I ended up buying those cheap alarms that you can attach to door and window frames that emit a shrill shrieking sound whenever the entry point is breached. Beyond that, I’m also worried about my indoor temperatures in relation to the windows. In the winter the cold air will leak in from outside while the opposite happens in the summer. On top of temperature leakage, the sunlight that comes in from the windows was hitting my HVAC thermostat which was originally installed on a wall that gets sunlight exposure in the afternoon hours. I had no idea that radiant heat from sunlight could make the wall warm enough where it messes with the thermostat’s temperature readings. The issue is that the thermostat is what tells the HVAC system what the real temperature inside the house actually is, so a warmer than usual wall will make the HVAC system think the house is warmer than it actually is in reality.

I hadn’t stayed in hotel rooms in years because of the exorbitant prices in all of the places I have traveled.

Usually my friends and I would either find campgrounds to camp overnight or we’d just sleep in the car at a truck stop.

When my wife was planning our recent vacation, she requested that we book hotel rooms ahead of time so we could compare and contrast prices. I couldn’t say no so I agreed to help her find an affordable option without sleeping in a motel room full of mold and cockroaches. Luckily there was a brand new 4-star hotel that had just opened in the city where we’d be staying and they had a really good deal on room rates for the week in which we’d be traveling. We simply booked a standard single bed room with a normal view of the city outside. But I was pleasantly surprised when the concierge at the front desk offered to upgrade our room when my wife and I arrived to check in. She said that they had a number of premium rooms open and they were happy to give us a free upgrade. Since we weren’t about to turn down a better room for no extra expense, we happily accepted. When we walked inside, we were greeted by a suite with a miniature kitchen and living room area. On top of that, the suite had a central air conditioner with ductwork stretching from the bedroom to the living room and kitchen area. On top of the split style HVAC system, the hotel suite also had an air purifier next to the air conditioner thermostat. We loved the suite and enjoyed our stay at the new hotel.

I loved playing sports with my friends at school. Before we had team sports, we’d play soccer on the playgrounds during recess. My favorite position to play in soccer was goalkeeper because I played this position in street hockey around this time as well. Goalkeeper was loads of fun because I could throw my body around to catch the ball and this led to some impressive saves at times. I also let in a ridiculous amount of goals at times as well, so it all balanced out in the end. It’s hard to stop all shots on a goal that large when you’re just one single person. While we played soccer during recess, we mostly played basketball during P.E. classes. For whatever reason, the coaches during gym class had an affinity for basketball beyond any other sport. We were forced to place basketball in that freezing cold gymnasium for the better part of five years worth of elementary school. I have heard that the elementary school’s gym has an upgraded heating system in it nowadays, but back then it was terrible. I guess the school only cared that we weren’t dying from hypothermia. As long as that was avoided, they were fine with us shivering during our time in that gym. It was despicable because the school spent money on other ridiculous investments before taking it upon themselves to improve the vastly deficient gym heating system. I just hope the rumors are true and that the elementary school’s gym now has a much better heating system inside of it. I can’t imagine today’s kids suffering in silence because of that dreaded gym’s faulty heating system.

I have an issue with feeling like my home is dirty in any way.

My parents had me cleaning religiously at a young age.

It was my job to do all of the dusting when I was too young to mow the lawn or clean the rain gutters. I took my job seriously and always tried to impress my parents with my attention to detail. We not only had those far reaching dusters with the feather-like heads to collect any physical dust particles coating surfaces in our home, but also a high powered vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter on the exhaust for collecting dust, dirt, and anything else in the house. With these sorts of tools at my disposal, I was able to get fairly proficient at keeping dust levels down in our home. It comes in handy nowadays as I’m living in my own home for the very first time. And since I live in a region that is extremely dusty, it inevitably gets into the house through doors and windows. I do whatever I can to keep it out of my indoor air, but dusting surfaces only goes so far. You have to utilize quality air conditioner filters as well, but this can be a double edged sword. I was using air conditioner filters that were too dense and the added filtration wasn’t worth losing so much air flow in the system. That can lead to performance drops and wear and tear on various parts within the system like the fan motor. I have learned from personal experience that the best air conditioner filters are the ones that are strong enough to collect mold spores along with dust and dirt, but not necessarily the ones that collect viral particles. However, if COVID exposure is a concern you might want to consider the strong air filter.

When I was a kid, my parents had a fireplace in the den.

The den was a special place, because my dad was the only person allowed in the room most of the time.

There was a 13-in color television in the den and we would sit and watch television at night. My dad would put logs on the fire and the fireplace would be glowing with orange, yellow, and red flames. My brother’s and I would sit next to the fireplace. It was one of the places that I felt very safe. When my husband and I started looking for a house, I wanted a place with a fireplace as well. We found the perfect upstairs and downstairs place with a fireplace in the living room and the master bedroom. I couldn’t believe that we found a place with two fireplaces in the house. One of my favorite things to do is cuddle with the kids in front of the fireplace. We put a sofa in the living room close to the fireplace and the kids and I like to cuddle up on the couch and watch some of our favorite television programs. It makes me feel exactly the way that I did when I was a kid and it is a nostalgic feeling that makes me feel warm inside. I hope that my kids are making the same type of memory so one day they will want to have a house that has a fireplace too. There is just something that is very warm, comfortable, and homie about sitting in front of the fireplace on a cold and snowy night.

My friends really wanted to go fishing on the weekend when all of us had the day off.

I knew it was going to be very cold and freezing and I honestly did not want to spend the day out on the lake.

I know that the lake is at the perfect ice thickness for fishing, so I gave in to my friends and we decided to go to the water. My buddy has a shack down there. It isn’t very big, but there is enough room for five people to fish and we put one whole right in the middle of the shack. We can catch a lot of fish on the right day and the right bait. Usually we just pull up one or two while we are there. We also drink a lot of beers and smoke some recreational marijuana products. It was-6 degrees the day that we were in the ice shack and Jack’s space heater wasn’t working at all. The space heater is the only thing that we have to provide any warmth. Every time it got to the maximum heating setting, it started to shut off. It would run for about 5 minutes and then shut down and then we had to wait 10 minutes before we could turn it back on again. I was cold and without the space heater, I was going to go home. I told my friends that I wish them a lot of good luck fishing, but I was going to get on my snowmobile and head back to the house. I knew it was much warmer there.

We drank a bunch of beers and we watched the home team slaughter the visitors

My mom knows how much I love football, so she bought me tickets to one of the playoff games. Tickets to the game were $200 each. I couldn’t believe that my mom bought me two tickets to see the game. I grabbed one of my friends named Jack and I told him that we were going to be able to go to the game. He was really happy that I picked him to go to the football game with me. Jack was supposed to work that day at the heating and AC repair business. I told him that he needed to come up with an excuse so he didn’t have to work on heating and AC repairs. He wanted to go to the football game and I wanted him to go too. The morning that Jack was supposed to work, he called his boss and told the guy that he was feeling very ill. He had diarrhea and an upset stomach and there was no way that he could work on heating and AC repairs. By the afternoon, Jack and I were on our way to the football game. I don’t think my friend felt bad at all about not going to work. My mom was really nice to get the tickets to the game and we had an awesome time that night. We drank a bunch of beers and we watched the home team slaughter the visitors. They won the playoff game by a score of 37 to 6. It wasn’t much of a nail biter, but it was still great to see the offense and defense score so many points.
