I had to live in gratitude for what I had, slow down, get perspective plus reflect on our life.

I’ve never been the one for quiet internal reflection. Actually, there’s actually never been much about myself and others that was at all subtle. This is why the fluctuations that I’ve made to our life are still taking my spouse by complete surprise. It’s as though I went into the COVID pandemic as a single guy plus then came out of it another. Going to the beachside house to task from the comfort of central air conditioning of our beach lake house wasn’t the worst or biggest deal, but the biggest factor was the reality that every one of us faced while I was in the worst of the pandemic. My husband Bob means everything to myself and others plus I can’t imagine our life without her. But abruptly, Bob was at risk of becoming legitimately ill with Covid or worse. Bob has a congenital health condition that put his at the highest of risks when it came to the virus. So our lives totally changed. All of us stayed inside with the safety plus security of the air conditioning in our home. There just wasn’t another thought given to it. Until there was a vaccine, our main task was keeping Bob Covid free. So every one of us both worked remotely inside the central air conditioning of our home. And Bob took all that time to task on being more present in our lives. This was the biggest lesson that I got from the pandemic. I had to live in gratitude for what I had, slow down, get perspective plus reflect on our life. So our time inside the central air conditioning of our lakeside house came with a lot of quiet. But there were even some practical benefits from that practice. I was even able to detect when something went wrong with the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C device before it became a bigger deal.

I wasn’t quite sure how the new normal would task out once I was back inside the zone controlled Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C.

There were many hard things that I needed to do when the office was closed down.

I spent the entire summer time plus some of the fall with the air conditioning on high in our auto because I was on the road. Since flying was still out, I had to get to our clients in order to provide our brand of service plus keep them all happy. Many afternoons, I was either on locale with a purchaser implementing or negotiating for our services. Otherwise, I was going down the road with the air conditioning on. Every night, I would stop for the night at a roadside hotel. This was a big thing that I gleaned from being out driving on the road. The interstate hotels were always so consistent. They were very clean, well appointed plus had the most regularly reliable Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C. For that whole summer, I was in deep need of great Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C cooling. And I got it each night that I stayed at a single of the mid tier hotels along the interstate. So now that we can fly again, a single of our new normals is staying with these sorts of hotels. I’ve explained to the travel dept that I don’t want the expensive, downtown hotels. Instead, I’d prefer to be able to count on the excellent heating plus cooling equipment. And that means being booked into the mid tier hotels near the airport or just off the interstate.

I actually took to working remotely from our home quite easily.

That was such a surprise to me.

When I first got word that we’d have to leave our zone controlled offices and the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C of work to do tasks from home, I thought I was doomed. First of all, I actually liked actually being able to work inside all that zone controlled Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C. And when it came to summer heat, I knew that the central air conditioning at beach lake house wasn’t going to be anything close to the office Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C. Then there was the fact that I actually liked to work with everyone I worked with. This was substantial to myself and others as well. Truthfully, I found that actually working from beach lake house wasn’t nearly as hard as I thought it was going to be. It’s just me, our hubby plus our cats. So it wasn’t prefer there were a bunch of kids running around. My hubby spent that first summer time on the road trying to keep clients happy. So I took over the beach lake house office. The thermostat setting stayed put but I adapted and learned how to schedule around the heat. To this day, I get up early plus go right to work. I always get most of everything done before the peak heating hours of the day. And that’s when I go do my errands inside commercial Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C!

I’m feeling fortunate but I also see that I had in building myself and others great fortune. When I was a little kid, I was so passionate about finance. I’ve never actually been the sort of person who actually reads the directions.

Somehow, I must recognize that it’s very intuitive so I can simply figure it out.

I’m much more interested in playing with any new toy than I am reading more about how it works or checking the warranty. I’ve never been that consistent when it comes to great lifestyle choices.

For sure, I’ve never been a single to be super healthy.

Also, I’ve never veered into getting self destructive or crazy with our lifestyle choices either. But I go from resting inside the zone controlled Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C of the offices to the central air conditioning of our beachside house wasn’t ideal. I knew this although I just couldn’t seem to build any sort of momentum when it came to sticking to fluctuations. I tried a few diets only to bail in a couple of weeks. Instead of coming beach lake house to the recliner, I tried getting out of the air conditioning for a walk. But again, I just couldn’t find any sort of consistency at all. And yet, I sure wasn’t getting any younger plus the pandemic sort of helped myself and others realize that our wellness and health was something I had to take care of. So I finally made some permanent fluctuations plus added a serious commitment as well. I have a sit up riser at our desk so I sit much of the day. And I don’t come beachside house to the air conditioning plus the couch. At first, I was going to the gym. That wasn’t that bad until the summer time hit. Instead of giving myself a reason to quit, I called the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C tech. Well, perhaps not every year however I will not go a decade without air duct cleaning again. And it could have been longer than that. All of us moved here just over 10 years ago. When Max and I purchased the locale, there was a pretty hot showdown when it came to the heating plus cooling. The original seller just wasn’t interested in replacing a legitimately obsolete Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C unit. All of us were coming to a region where Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C is a top priority plus wanted a turn key situation when it came to great Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C devices plus Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C technology. It got to the point that Max and I walked away from the deal. There was just no way that every one of us were bending when it came to truly great residential Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C. But now I’m thinking that maybe the new Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C component didn’t come with air duct cleaning plus air duct resealing. Max and I tried to find out however couldn’t get our hands on the paperwork that would have shown us the air duct cleaning. All every one of us had were the receipts for the newer heating plus cooling equipment. So while I want to know if the air duct cleaning was done prior to the new Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C component being installed, I can’t be sure. What I do recognize for sure is that this lake house is so much better once every one of us got the air duct cleaning plus air duct resealing done. I had it done as a space of Springtime cleaning this year plus I can’t recognize the difference it has made in our lovely home.

I just thought of how I used to run my local business doing HVAC repairs.

I started the company when I was 32 years old and was really excited to go on my own and escape the shackles of the corporate engineering world.

I did engineering for seven years before deciding that I couldn’t take it anymore and so I left. At the time I was starting my HVAC business but it wasn’t making that much money so I had to kick it in high gear because my engineering money stopped coming in. I advertised in the paper for my HVAC services and soon the phone began to ring. It wasn’t long after that I was booked with HVAC installations for months ahead of time. My business ran great for 10 years before quitting that venture and chasing the stand up comedy dream. I still did some heating and cooling repairs while doing comedy, to make some side cash, but I only did it now and then when I was low on money. Comedy lasted about 15 years before switching to a career in music. I now play drums and sing in a band around town in the local businesses and pubs. It seems like I get bored with something and need a change, which is fine because it allows me to experience many different pursuits in my life. I may even get a job in this town overseas working for the heating contractor this winter while I play music and practice the drums. Life is full of opportunities and don’t be afraid to fail.

Maybe if music doesn’t do it for me then I will go back to comedy, but for now I am really feeling like music could be my new love just like comedy once was

Today is an epic day in music history as I am going to get my djembe to start playing it again. Maybe it’s just an epic moment in my life as I am going to begin my musical journey and say goodbye to my longtime comedy pursuit. I never thought I would stop doing comedy but something shifted within me and I no longer felt it in my heart. Maybe it was all of the cutthroat competition, playing in hot non air conditioned clubs, or the nonstop social media shouting game, but whatever the reason is I have decided to put comedy in my rearview mirror and start a path in music. There are a few local businesses interested in having us perform in their venues so this is good news. I think if we keep at it we can do some cool things with music. My HVAC pro friend plays the guitar and I sing and I can just picture us in ten years playing in some small dive bars and clubs but having a great time with the audience. Maybe if music doesn’t do it for me then I will go back to comedy, but for now I am really feeling like music could be my new love just like comedy once was. I still work for the heating and cooling corp each day doing HVAC system service calls but I think within a year or so I could live off of the money I make from doing music shows in these local businesses. We shall see what happens.
