Good thing garage has HVAC – moving

Last year I went through one of the most stressful moves of my entire life with all of the housing debacle as we experienced. We were trying to purchase our first home, but there was nothing but issues when it came to closing. The sellers were reluctant to change things we needed. Then they had the work done, incorrectly. Then the energy company insisted that they move an entire utility pole before we can move into the house. And finally a massive storm ripped through our area and brought down some trees that had to be removed from the property. All in all we spent months waiting to get into the house. During this time our things were in a strange purgatory. There is nowhere for us to put our stuff. Our old lease was expired, and we couldn’t get into the new house. In a panic, we negotiated with the sellers and wound up storing everything in the garage of the new home. There were a few complications of keeping our things sequestered to the garage but luckily the air quality was not one of them. I guess, thanks to good karma, the garage was well-insulated and attached to the home’s central AC system. This month that is long as the sellers kept the thermostat set to a reasonable temperature, the garage was also cool and dry. We were able to store our things in this air conditioned space for about a month. If we didn’t have HVAC service in the garage, I have no idea what we would have done with all of our belongings. We certainly couldn’t afford an air-conditioned storage unit.
