Seal up that house – all new windows and doors

My boyfriend is so funny to me sometimes.

I swear to God he does not think before he does things. That’s where I come in, to fix all of his problems. Recently he’s been on this massive energy saving kick. I think it’s a great idea, don’t get me wrong. There’s nothing I would like more than to spend less on our monthly bills, and help the Earth while we’re doing it. Lord knows I don’t have extra money to be handing over to the energy company every month. That’s why it seems like a really great idea when he wanted to optimize our HVAC system to the most energy-efficient models on the market. I was all for this Heating and Cooling upgrade. However, I was not the most enthusiastic when I realized that he didn’t plan on improving the rest of the house before we purchase this expensive high-tech air conditioning equipment. Why is that such an issue? Because we live in an old house that needs a lot of work done. I don’t see the point in purchasing some expensive air handling equipment when all of the treated air is just going to flow straight through the ceiling. As far as I’m concerned, we need to seal of this house before we even consider buying more expensive HVAC products. It’s not going to make any difference if all of our hot and cold air just flows right outside. That’s why as he’s at the HVAC store browsing for furnaces and air conditioning units, I’m at home diligently ceiling off all of our doors and windows. If we’re going to invest in this equipment, we’re going to keep the air in the house.
