The ductwork in the attic was broken.
I don’t know how I knew, but I was sure the ductwork in the attic was broken! I could hear a whistling coming from the attic whenever the furnace turned on.
It was already hot up there, however the heat seemed to be more concentrated.
The first time I noticed how much warmer it was, was when I went into the attic to pull out some clothes from an aged trunk that belonged to my Grandma. There were clothes that came from the early 1900s and I was sure they would be perfect for my daughter’s senior play, however normally, the air in the attic was still, however there was a slight movement of the air. I called the Heating, Ventilation and A/C supplier and told them there was a problem with the ductwork in the attic. They sent a special Heating, Ventilation and A/C serviceman to the house, and she inspected the entire ductwork system; She showed where the crack was in the ductwork, and said all the people wouldn’t have noticed. She also found cracks in other locations, and one of the greatest holes was highly visible, and it was in the basement. I could not understand how the Heating, Ventilation and A/C serviceman had missed it when she was doing the inspection. The Heating, Ventilation and A/C serviceman looking for the cracked ductwork found it abruptly, and would have thought it would have been found during the inspection. She said they were just looking at the furnace, however it was her task to find the ductwork cracks. The awful news was that she thought my buddy and I needed to upgrade a few pieces of ductwork, however the rest could be repaired and the ductwork should be cleaned and sanitized.
