She never went without AC at the beach house
Owning a beach home seems expensive and glamorous for people.
But to be honest, it’s the best thing ever.
Sharon gets to wake up to the sound of the ocean, and the birds in her trees. Plus, most afternoons she gets to watch the magical sunset that happens on the horizon. However, there’s another side to living so close to the water. Sharon came face to face with this each year when it’s hurricane season. Though she isn’t always in the direct path of hurricanes, Sharon gets to feel after effect. There’s rain, and water, and so much debris that washes up on her beach. With weather conditions changing, things seem to be getting worse. Sharon learned this the hard way this year. There were hurricane warnings all over the area, which was too close to home. This had her freaking out because this hadn’t happened before. Lucky for her, the freak weather happened away from her area, but it was strong enough to knock the power off. Sharon never went separate from AC at the beach home for more than a day. However, it was 4 mornings before she had power back, and could use the AC to keep her home. This whole incident had Sharon thinking about the future.Now she is in the process of getting a generator to ensure she had electricity even when the power was out. Plus, Sharon is looking into reinforcing the beach house just in case she has such exhausting weather next summer. A beach house without air conditioning can be a literal nightmare given the heat and humidity in summer.
