Out of work early due to HVAC system
Teaching is my life, teaching has been my dream since I was 14 years old. I remember helping my younger brother with his math and I knew from that day helping him and also being great at math myself was something I wanted to do with my life. I have worked at the school for 15 years now and I still love helping the children develop and grow, although I wish I could be paid better much like everyone else. Inflation is killing the paycheck! I was able to get out early today which was nice because I have lots of papers to grade. Unfortunately, it’s due to the air conditioning system not working at the school. It was a little outdated so they probably needed an HVAC technician to come in and install a new heating and cooling system. The school after all is 60 years old. I know the HVAC serviceman that was here last quarter suggested that we have some upgrades done but the school is cheap. I guess now it probably will cost them more money if it is indeed done for and a new heating and air conditioning system needs to be put in its place. Thankfully it doesn’t come out of my pocket! Although this better not hurt my yearly raise because I will be very upset. It’s hard to live a life where you want to teach kids but the pay isn’t quite there. I have thought about other ways to earn money to help alleviate that but who wants to work multiple jobs? I don’t know if I would have the time anyways.
