I like to cuddle with the kids in front of the fireplace
When I was a kid, my parents had a fireplace in the den.
The den was a special place, because my dad was the only person allowed in the room most of the time.
There was a 13-in color television in the den and we would sit and watch television at night. My dad would put logs on the fire and the fireplace would be glowing with orange, yellow, and red flames. My brother’s and I would sit next to the fireplace. It was one of the places that I felt very safe. When my husband and I started looking for a house, I wanted a place with a fireplace as well. We found the perfect upstairs and downstairs place with a fireplace in the living room and the master bedroom. I couldn’t believe that we found a place with two fireplaces in the house. One of my favorite things to do is cuddle with the kids in front of the fireplace. We put a sofa in the living room close to the fireplace and the kids and I like to cuddle up on the couch and watch some of our favorite television programs. It makes me feel exactly the way that I did when I was a kid and it is a nostalgic feeling that makes me feel warm inside. I hope that my kids are making the same type of memory so one day they will want to have a house that has a fireplace too. There is just something that is very warm, comfortable, and homie about sitting in front of the fireplace on a cold and snowy night.
