We were having a great time until the rain came
The hike back down to the parking lot was a little scary, because it was muddy & slippery everywhere.
When I was in school, I was on the cross-country running team. I enjoyed being outdoors & in nature. I absolutely loved running in the woods & I enjoyed the smell of the trees. I was one of the fastest gentlemen on the team & acquired a scholarship to one of the state schools. I’m in my second year of school & I have a wonderful group of pals… Most of us are on the cross-country running team… On the weekends, we love to go hiking in the mountains, however there are a lot of mountainous areas near the school & multiple of the areas have trails for beginners & advanced hikers. My pals & I usually take the advanced hiking trail… We do not mind a challenge! Last weekend we made the choice to go hiking along the ridge. We took that 8 mile hike all the way to the summit. It was a sizzling & humid day. Hiking along the ridge was pretty fun until the rain started. There was no rain in the forecast & it completely caught everybody by surprise. It got chilly absolutely suddenly at the top of the mountain. The hike back down to the parking lot was a little scary, because it was muddy & slippery everywhere. My good friends & I were soaked & wet when we got into the car, however even though it was warm outside, we made the move to turn on the heater. We were all a bit chilly after getting wet & the heating equipment helped dry our clothes & warm us up. We hoped the rain would eventually subside, but it continued for an hour. Eventually, we had to leave.
