The new job takes me almost 45 minutes to get to work

For the past 9 years, I worked as a repairman for a nationwide commercial HVAC service provider.

I was in charge of Three Counties at one time and my sales were the highest in the whole company.

I expected my boss to eventually give me a raise and put me in charge but that never happened. After 9 years I finally made the decision to look for a different job. I interviewed with several HVAC repair agencies. Most of them were surprised that I was applying for an entry level job given all of the experience that I had listed on my resume. One of the HVAC service companies told me that he had a corporate position available that he believed I would be perfect for. The corporate position sounded interesting and I listened very carefully as the man explained more details about the HVAC job. Basically, I would be in charge of special projects and I would oversee several branches for the repair company. Everything sounded perfect, but the biggest downfall was the location. The position was at the corporate office in the city and I was a good 45 minutes away from the location. I was interviewing for a job that was 5 minutes away from my home address. The office manager offered me the job if I wanted to commute. There was no way that I was going to turn down the job after that even if it meant driving almost an hour to get to work every day. I have the money to buy a better car that is fuel efficient and economical.
