When you said personal trainer, I didn't realize he was going to turn me into a contortionist.

My husband would be celebrating our 25th anniversary on Christmas, and I was tired of being fat.

  • I decided to hire a personal trainer at the local gym, and get back into shape.

I started the nutritional program through my doctor. Between the personal trainer and the nutritional program, I lost 15 pounds in the first month. I was feeling really good now that I was eating properly, and getting exercise. My personal trainer was very happy with the progress I was making, and said he was going to ramp it up. Whenever I hear someone say they’re going to ramp it up, I panic. I know this means things are going to get harder and more intense. I just looked at my trainer, and arched brow. He told me not to panic he was just going to throw some yoga moves into my training session. I reminded him I was almost 60, and my body no longer contorted. He chuckled and told me I was only as old is I felt, and he thought I looked pretty young. Over the next three weeks, I was putting my body into positions that I never thought was possible. When I was practicing some of the moves at home, my husband laughed. He told me he hadn’t seen me that limber since our honeymoon, and I throw pillow at him. Between the nutritional counseling, and the personal trainer, I am feeling so much better than I did 25 years ago. This may have started out as a journey to look better for our anniversary party, but I think it’s a lifestyle that I want to continue.
