Investing in home comfort when I work online
I used to get up every morning and drive to the office.
I had invested quite a bit of money in my work wardrobe and vehicle. I also spent a lot of money on buying my lunch everyday. I made it a little treat for myself though. I would get to leave the office, go somewhere for lunch and take my time with it. I researched restaurants on the weekend to find the very best place. Now my workplace has me at home. I wear sweatpants and stained t-shirts at my desk. I don’t even own a car anymore and I make something to eat at home. Where I invest my money now is home comfort. Since I am stuck at my house, it might as well be pleasant. I got a top quality desk, computer and office equipment. I also invested in a better HVAC unit. My previous unit was loud, old and inefficient. I now have a ductless HVAC unit with a smart thermostat. I have a timed program on when to provide heating and cooling in my office. With ductless HVAC, zone control is possible. I save money by setting each room a different temperature. Since I don’t move around a lot, I only provide heating and cooling for the space I am in. After I wake up in the morning, my bedroom gets nothing until right when I am about to sleep. The office gets quality HVAC from 9-5 everyday. Then it shuts down and is my signal that the workday is over.
