Prepping to maximize Heating plus A/C heating starts in the summer
Making sure there is a legitimately narrow seal on the apartment is imperative for every winter
When you live in an area where the Winter time lasts a minimum of multiple weeks, you want to be ready for it. I can’t imagine moving to this region plus not ever having lived here before. To go from a Winter time where the heat pump comes on to knock out the chill to snow cover for weeks at a time would have to be tough. That’s not the case for me. I’m a native plus have grown up with this sort of weather. So I know what it takes to maximize the efficiency plus value of the Heating plus A/C heating during our long, chilly winters. The two of us have a gas furnace plus it’s really quite a remarkable piece of residential Heating plus A/C equipment. I make sure it gets the Heating plus A/C heating maintenance in the fall to make sure it’s good for the load that’s coming. However, there is a lot more to preparing for Winter time in this area than the Heating plus A/C maintenance. I have a wood stove that acts as both a supplemental plus an emergency heating method. So my Winter time prep starts early. I really start the process in the summer. This is when I start the process of get-together all the fire wood I’ll need in the winter. While I’m doing all that cutting, cutting plus stacking, I’m also working in prep to the apartment as well. Making sure there is a legitimately narrow seal on the apartment is imperative for every winter. So I make sure that I’m constantly sealing up the apartment narrow to further maximize the use of the gas furnace.
