Taking my dog for a walk
After the recent events that took place in my household I suppose that it’s reasonable to say that I spoiled my dog to the point of no return.
My dog Zoey is a 5 year old rescue dog that had a bit of a rough start in life, since her original owners didn’t take good care of her. In order to make up for lost time, I have admittedly been a little over the top when it comes to spoiling her with treats, toys, and belly rubs. Well, yesterday when I tried to take Zoey out for a walk on a hot summer morning she decided to stop walking in the middle of the journey. Because Zoey is a bigger dog with an even larger coat of fur I tend to keep the air conditioning cooling my entire house most of the day. I even started using a routine air conditioning plan this year just to be sure that she would be comfortable. I guess she has become a bit too accustomed to the air conditioning system at home, because on yesterday’s walk the moment she was too hot she decided that the walk was over. She was so stubborn that I decided to call a neighbor that lived nearby so he could drive us back to my house. As you might expect, I was feeling annoyed and a little embarrassed. I guess it is my fault that this happened because I was the one who did all of the spoiling, not her. Despite that disaster, I will still keep spoiling my dog to some degree because she deserves it. But, there is no question that I will also be rolling back some of the a/c time she has been getting and hopefully get her out of this habit.
