Raise home equity with these HVAC upgrades

Zone control is achieved by installing a series of valves within my existing ductwork, and can help direct the flow of air throughout my house

When my wife and I decided to sell our house, we first wanted to spend some time and upgrade some of the components of the house that were outdated. We wanted to make upgrades that would help our home become more energy efficient. One of the first things we did was upgrade all of the windows to double pane windows with vinyl frames. Single pane windows with aluminum frames are incredibly inefficient, and are causing our HVAC system to have to work harder than it should to heat and cool our house. Another upgrade that helped the efficiency of our HVAC system was installing radiant heated floors. Radiant heated floors utilize a heating element underneath the existing flooring, which helps to maintain a consistent ambient temperature of the house. When the floors are radiating heat, the HVAC system doesn’t have to work as hard to heat our home in the winter. Another energy-efficient upgrade we made to our home was installing a smart thermostat with zone control. A smart thermostat is connected to wifi, and can be programmed via an app on your phone or PC. Zone control is achieved by installing a series of valves within my existing ductwork, and can help direct the flow of air throughout my house. With a smart thermostat and zone control, I can make sure that my air conditioner isn’t running while I’m not home, and I can also make sure that I’m not using energy to treat vacant rooms. With just these three simple upgrades, you can raise the energy efficiency of your home, and add value for when you bring it to market.
