I rushed home when my wife said our equipment was busted up
I immediately rushed home from work when my wife said that somebody trashed the equipment at our home.
I was thinking the worst that somebody broke in and stole everything.
I was also worried that somebody might have found our hidden safe and I wanted to be sure. I told my wife to call the police and by the time I got home, they were there. When I asked my wife what happened, she pointed to the A/C condenser unit. She said it was totally mangled up and she wasn’t sure why anybody would do that. I spoke with the officers and they said it seemed likely that the perpetrators were looking to get the copper out of the A/C equipment. I had to ask the officers to run that by me again because that didn’t make sense to me. Here was this expensive A/C equipment and they meant to tell me they didn’t want that, but just the cheap copper inside the equipment? They explained it to me and said that people are pretty desperate sometimes and it wasn’t uncommon for this type of thing to happen. They suggested that we put some sort of cage over the equipment so that nobody could break into it like that. Nobody actually broke into our home or anything, so I didn’t have to be bothered about that. But I did have to replace the A/C equipment and I knew that was going to cost a small fortune. Needless to say, I was quite upset about what happened!
