I never considered needing to have an entire conversation about a thermostat, but they’ve really upgraded over the years! We opted for a programmable thermostat that we could control from our phones.
I moved in with my boyfriend after graduating college, and it has been a really intense learning experience for the both of us. Neither of us had roommates before, so we’re new to living with people we didn’t grow up with, and that don’t understand the way we like things. It’s been challenging, but we’ve grown so much individually and as a couple because of it. When we decided to buy a house, our decision-making skills came into play when we had to upgrade the home’s air conditioning system. We were told that if it’s been 8-10 years since the last air conditioning upgrade to go ahead and plan to install a brand new system. Even if it’s not completely ready to upgrade, you can get a better price from a HVAC company if you just bought the house. When the technician came to do the inspection and quote, we discussed all of our options for air conditioning and heating systems, and even thermostats as well. I never considered needing to have an entire conversation about a thermostat, but they’ve really upgraded over the years! We opted for a programmable thermostat that we could control from our phones. At first I didn’t want a robot thermostat, but we decided that it would be a good option considering the house is two-stories. The new thermostat allows us to program the temperature range to our normal day-to-day activities. I’m glad that we were able to talk through that without arguing, or making the other person feel less for their own opinions.
