We have a weird smell in our air ducts
We have a really weird smell coming from our air conditioning ducts and I guess I’m just going to have to go ahead and call a professional heating and cooling company about it.
- At first, I actually thought that I was imagining it.
I thought that there was something yucky smelling outside and that it was getting in through the HVAC system and making the house smell bad. Then the more I smelled it, the more I realized that it was actually coming from inside the house. That’s because whenever I went outside to look for the source of the odor, the air outside smelled fresh and sweet! It was totally unlike the gross smell inside of the house! So I went back to trying to figure out what was causing the issue. Well, I did a lot of detective work and I got it narrowed down to the fact that it was definitely something inside of the air conditioning ductwork. I noticed that the smell got infinitely worse whenever the A/C turned on. The smell was almost unbearable if I was standing by one of the air vents. I knew that there was something going on but I could never figure out what it was. It was almost to the point where I needed to open up the windows while the A/C was on, which would be completely stupid! I am calling the local HVAC company today to make an appointment with them. I guess I’m going to have to get my air ducts professionally cleaned out to get rid of this smell.
