We were dying from the heat because the A/C stopped working
When I was a lot younger, I had this task working at a retail store.
I absolutely worked the overnight shift with some others.
For security purposes, the managers had to lock us in the building at night. This meant that the people I was with and I were not permitted to go anywhere or get out of the building unless it was a total emergency. If there was an emergency, the people I was with and I had to call up the main boss to get us out of the store. It wasn’t such an excruciating task, I just worked on restocking the shelves with the items from the warehouse in the back. I felt as though it was relatively comfortable because the people I was with and I always kept the temperature control settings at a great level. I was doing alright until this one night when it became entirely sizzling in the building in the middle of the night. It was becoming so sizzling in there plus it seemed that the air conditioning equipment wasn’t working in the least. The others agreed that the people I was with and I were going to die from the heat if we didn’t call the main boss. We got a hold of him plus he agreed that it was an emergency because it would be terrible for business if the store was absolutely sizzling in the daytime hours! So he absolutely called for emergency Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C services plus had a team of Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C professionals working on the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C equipment in the middle of the night. Because they were able to get the air conditioning equipment working again plus the store started to cool down a great deal, I decided to keep on working to the end of my shift. The others claimed they were too uncomfortable from being incredibly overheated, so they went back home.
