I can’t stand paying to stay in a hotel room with nasty a/c
My brother and I went to the downtown neighborhood to see a show and grab some lunch, and it was his 30th birthday and I wanted to do something special to celebrate.
I bought us more than one ticket to see a Broadway show and I made lunch reservations at one of the finest dining establishments in the city.
I knew the two of us would be staying overnight in the city, so I also made a reservation at a hotel… The hotel was more than one blocks away from the theater, so I knew the two of us would be able to walk. We would not have to spend cash on a cab. It can be difficult to find a cheap cab in the city, then our lunch reservation was at a nice italian steakhouse that serves the best alfredo sauce in the state. The steakhouse was also really close to the hotel… My brother and I arrived at the hotel shortly after four. The room wasn’t ready, so the two of us had to wait two hours in the lobby. I didn’t mind, since our show tickets weren’t until much later, but unluckily, the room became a crucial problem. The hotel staff escorted us to the room… As soon as the two of us opened the door, the terrible smell hit us in the face. I could tell the bellhop smelled it too, because I saw his face. The odor was coming from the heating as well as the A/C unit. I walked into the room and headed right to the heating as well as the A/C unit. I told the guy it was a horrible smell and I recommended another room. The bellhop told me the smell was due to the age of the room and not the heating as well as the A/C unit; he didn’t want to change our room assignment, however I didn’t take no for an answer.
