A day in the sun turns out badly

My girlfriend and I decided to go to the beach on Saturday. I rarely have a weekend day off work and it was the perfect weather for a day at the beach. My girlfriend and I planned to stay in a hotel on Saturday night and returned back home early on Sunday morning. We made the drive early Saturday morning and the temperature was already warm and humid by the time we arrived. My girlfriend and I spent most of the afternoon laying out on the beach. I fell asleep for an hour and I forgot to turn. I ended up with a terrible sunburn on my arms, legs, and chest. As soon as I woke up, I could feel the tightness in my skin and I knew that I must have been burned badly. I decided to go back to the hotel to get some Tylenol and aloe vera gel. I quickly fell asleep on the bed in front of the air conditioner. The cold air felt great on my red hot skin. I turned down the temperature on the fan, so the air conditioner would run constantly. The gentle but cold breeze soothed my aching skin. I didn’t wake up until my girlfriend returned to the room. She was worried about my safety, since I never came back from the hotel room. I was too burnt and hurt to move, so we spent the rest of the night in our room. Room service brought us steak and potatoes and crepes suzette. Next time I decide to nap on the beach, I’m going to set a loud alarm.
