Don’t hide at work to get away from your wife
Many of the HVAC technicians were having trouble with their marriages, and since they were arguing so much, they preferred to spend more time at the HVAC company.
I am the owner of an HVAC company, and in my HVAC company, we have a policy about working overtime. You are not allowed to work over a certain amount of overtime per week. At my HVAC company, we actually do not pay extra for overtime. Since all of my contractors are self-employed and make their own hours, I do not pay them extra for overtime. However, I do restrict the number of hours that they can work for the HVAC company. At first, I thought that it was totally cool that my HVAC technicians wanted to work overtime at the HVAC company. For me, it told me that they were willing to work hard and that they were invested in the future of the HVAC company. However, I eventually learned that the HVAC technicians had ulterior motives for working extra hours at the HVAC company. Many of the HVAC technicians were having trouble with their marriages, and since they were arguing so much, they preferred to spend more time at the HVAC company. They were using the HVAC company as a place to hide so that they could avoid owning up to their wives. Although I am not in control of the personal lives of my HVAC technicians, I think that having a good marriage is important, and I know that the best thing that these HVAC technicians could do is spend time with their wives. That is why I have a policy about the number of hours that you can spend working overtime for the HVAC company. My HVAC company is not a place to hide from your wife.
