Getting into jumping rope for fun

I am consistently looking for new types of workouts to burn more calories, tone muscles & improve my fitness level… I try to change up the types of exercises I do to target all different muscles & get the most benefit from my workout sessions, but by checking out the training sessions of professional athletes, I came across jumping rope.

I hadn’t jumped rope since I was a little girl.

I bought a leather jump rope with weighted handles & started jumping… At first, I wasn’t legitimately nice at it. I kept stepping on the rope & smacking myself in the calves, then despite frequently running & cycling, I lacked the stamina to jump for more than a minute. I kept practicing & rapidly noticed improvement. I acquired the endurance to jump for long stretches. I became proficient at jumping on one foot, running with the rope, double-unders & crossovers. I now workout with a jump rope app on my phone; The guided workouts can be anywhere from eight to forty minutes long & vary from beginner to advanced levels, and some of the training sessions are strictly jumping while others incorporate crunches, jumping jacks, lunges, push-ups, burpees, squats & more. The app keeps track of the time I’ve devoted, number of sessions & calories I’ve burned. It’s seriously motivational, on the afternoons when I’m feeling a bit sluggish, I use the app. Jumping rope is a full-body workout. It gets my lungs & heart working. It involves strength, balance, stamina & coordination & burns a lot of calories in a legitimately short time.
