I was surprised he wasn’t willing to replace the aging heat pump
Having an older brother who believes he knows everything is enough to drive you mad, and well, not completely, however it can be a nightmare; My older brother has always been stubborn, and even my parents say his teen years were a challenge, and they hoped he’d get calmer after he met his wife, however that wasn’t the case.
There is always this need for him to control everything, and this is how he ended up losing his family after 10 years; now, he lives alone in this home he had purchased for family getaways back when he was married.
My brother is slowly turning into a hermit and I am a little sad about him. Dad and mom tried to help him, and encouraged my brother to see a therapist, however, that bore no fruit, but I am the only one he allows to visit the cabin, perhaps because I match his stubbornness and I am his little sister. Last summer, I went to the home to take him supplies and also make sure he was good before going on holiday. When I finally arrived, I noted the home felt warmer than usual. My brother told me his aging heat pump had failed and he was opting to leave the windows open during the afternoon. That really isn’t something you want to do in bear country, so my associate and I went back and forth about hiring someone to replace the broken heat pump; finally, he caved and said he’d do it and let me know while I was away on holiday, and knowing him, he’d drag his feet hiring an actual heating, ventilation, and A/C expert to come and do the job… However, eventually he’d get it done before I got back.
