Helping my friend make a HVAC decision
Lately my friend has been asking for help on a particular subject.
The subject being heating and cooling.
The only problem is, I have no clue on anything involving heat and air conditioning, like literally no clue. So she has been calling asking for my opinion on what heater and air conditioner might be best for her home and I don’t really know what to tell her. I will hear her mention words like geothermal heat pump, hot water boiler and mini ductless split. But those words don’t make sense to me. Recently she has been bringing up zoned heating and air conditioning. Despite me telling her that I don’t know myself, she continues to ask for my help. Since I can tell she is not going to take no for an answer I decided to call and ask the local heating and A/C corporation’s opinion. They asked me some questions about her home and budget, and I answered them, trying to imagine what she would want me to say. They recommended a heat pump for her, and after asking some questions and doing research, I realized that the heat pump sounded like a good idea. With my newfound knowledge, I went and I told my friend. Thankfully, she liked the idea too, and thanked me for my help. Last I heard, she was scheduling an appointment for heat pump installation. Maybe in the future my new knowledge will help me pick out a new heater and A/C system myself.
