I made a huge mistake moving to a cold part of the country
It’s as though I get down just a bit more with every Winter time that I have to endure.
It’s the snow and ice and the wind and cold.
It’s all of it together and it is knocking me down. This is why I get an overwhelming sense of dread whenever I get that first particularly chilly breeze in the fall. It makes me shudder, because it’s chilly and for what it foretells. At least, I use the first chilly wind to remind myself to get my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C tech come out to supply the gas furnace maintenance. I had such a great childhood growing up away from all this cold. It seemed like sunny days and blue skies all the time where I grew up. The worst that Winter time could supply was maybe forcing me to wear a sweater and some jeans for a week. Now, I can’t believe that I gave it all up! I didn’t even really know what a gas furnace was. The two of us only had an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C heat pump when I was a kid. Now, I get the shivers just thinking about how I’m going to handle yet another brutal winter around here. The snow, the ice and just trying to keep it all at bay. It can just be too much for a Southern girl to take. There are times I walk out to shovel, take a single look and walk right back inside my house. It’s hard to see the point. Thankfully, the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C company does a great job of keeping the house warm. As long as I don’t have to move from my cozy spot, I’m fine. But, that just doesn’t happen! I keep putting in for a transfer back to the land of sunshine and clear skies. I just hope that I can make it till then.
