It’s always a good idea to get a home warranty
Boy, am I glad he talked me into it! Less than a year after we moved into our house, the furnace broke down and we ended up having to get a brand new one
If you ask me, it’s always a really good idea to get a home warranty when you are buying a house. You just never know what’s going to happen once you sign on that dotted line. I almost made a horrible mistake when we bought our house a few years ago because I was so freaked out about spending so much money on the home mortgage. Seeing all of those zeroes on the loan application and the paperwork for the house itself really freaked me out. So whenever the agent asked me if I was interested in signing up for the home warranty on top of that, of course I immediately said no. I wasn’t interested in spending one more dime on top of what we were already spending. However, luckily, my husband was there and he’s much smarter about this stuff than I am. He said that if we had a home warranty and something went wrong with the heating, cooling, and ventilation system in the house then the home warranty would cover the cost to repair it. I wasn’t sure about that, but I did know that the oil furnace and the central air conditioning system in the house that we were buying wasn’t the newest nor the most high quality. That’s why I told him to go ahead and get the home warranty. Boy, am I glad he talked me into it! Less than a year after we moved into our house, the furnace broke down and we ended up having to get a brand new one. Then the next summer, the central A/C unit went on the blink. I can’t imagine how much we would have had to pay if we didn’t buy that home warranty!
