All of my coupons are gone now
All of the HVAC coupons that I had are finally gone.
It’s been a while since i have had to pay full price for having my furnace or air conditioning system maintained, that’s for sure.
My friend Brian, who is an HVAC technician, gave me a big stack of them a couple of years ago and I just now went through the whole pile of them. Yesterday, the HVAC company came to do some furnace maintenance on my old electric furnace and I had to hand over my very last coupon to them. I was so sad when I had to give over my last coupon that I felt like I was going to cry. I know that sounds silly, but it was really the end of an era for me. All of those coupons lasted me through a lot of tight times when I did not have enough money to get my heating and cooling system fixed. During those times, anytime I had trouble with my furnace or with my air conditioning system, I knew that I had all of those coupons to back me up and help me to have great indoor air quality even though the rest of my life may have been falling apart. Brian was really helpful when he gave those to me, and I know that it could have gotten him in big trouble because he was only supposed to give out one at a time. He left that job anyway, and I think that was his one act of kindness for me before he left the job. He knew that I was going to be needing a lot of help with my heating and cooling system. He checked it out for free for me once and I guess he saw that it was kind of on its last legs.
