Thankfully, the HVAC does a good job of keeping the home warm
It’s as though I am more depressed with every Wintertime that I have to endure. It’s the snow and ice and cold. It’s all of it and it is wearing me down. This is why I get an overwhelming sense of dread when I get that first actually chilly breeze in the fall. It makes me remember that it’s getting ready to be freezing cold once again! At least I’m able to use the first chilly wind to remind myself to have the HVAC tech come out to give the furnace a good going over. I have such great childhood memories of growing up away from all this cold. There seemed like endless sunny days and clear skies where I grew up. The worst that Wintertime could deliver was maybe forcing us to wear jackets and jeans for a week. Oh man, I can’t believe that I gave it all up for this cold place! Back then, I didn’t even know what a furnace was. The people I was with and I only had an HVAC heat pump. Now, I get the shivers just thinking about how I’m going to handle yet another brutal wintertime in this area. The snow, the ice and trying to keep it all at bay can just be too much for a Southern boy. There are times I walk out to shovel the driveway and I just take one look around and go right back inside our house. It’s like what’s the point. Thankfully, the HVAC does a good job of keeping the home warm. As long as I don’t transfer from my one cozy spot, I’m fine. But, that just doesn’t happen very often! I do keep trying to get a transfer back to the land of the sun and blue skies, but I just hope that I can make it until that happens.
