Monkey see, monkey do.

My husband and his brother are twins.

Even though they are both married and have families of their own, they are still very close.

If my husband has something he needs done, he calls his brother. If Tom needs something done, he will call my husband. It’s just how it is. My mother-in-law says it is a case of monkey see, monkey do. I just call it not being able to do anything by yourself. Last month, I told my husband that there was a problem with our furnace. I thought he would either ask me to call the HVAC company, or he would call. The first thing he did was to call his brother and ask him to come over on the weekend. He said he had a repair to be made to the furnace and he needed his help. I called my sister-in-law and asked her if she was coming over with him, and she said no. She wanted nothing to do with seeing that pair working with any type of HVAC equipment. I told her I understood how she felt, and asked if she wanted to go shopping. I figured the least we could do was get out of the way and let the two men play with the furnace, while we went shopping. We knew that when we got home, we would probably have to call the HVAC company to have the furnace properly repaired. I think we spent nearly as much money as what the new furnace was going to cost, but we had fun. We didn’t need to call the HVAC company when we got home, because my husband already had.
