What HVAC do we get for the baby?

My husband and I didn’t plan on having kids? Accidents happen though and we are expecting a child this wintertime.

  • The house has been set up for two people, not three.

The two of us are scrambling on trying to get our house ready. Right now we are trying to figure out where the baby can go. We each have an office that is required for work. There is the master bedroom and the laundry room. That is it. We love our house and don’t want to move either. The two of us right now are hoping to convert the laundry room into a nursery. I will still need to have a washer and dryer in there, but a baby doesn’t need a lot of space. A big project will be adding a window to the space. I also need to have our central HVAC system expanded too. The laundry room was definitely added on later in the house. There is no ductwork or connection to heating and cooling. It didn’t bother us before. We need to provide natural light, ventilation, heating and air conditioning for our child though. Adding a window seems to be quite easy. The HVAC contractor in town is a little concerned about tearing into the wall and adding ductwork. He has warned us it will be a huge mess. He is pushing for us to just do a separate ductless mini split. He said it is easier to install and we could set the nursery a different temperature. I am not sure what to do.
