The A/C device in my AirBnb is keeping me up on my vacation

Traveling when I was younger was so much harder than it is these days.

There was a point where gasoline reached $4 a gallon during the Bush years as the economy totally grinded to a halt. When you account for inflation, it was also more costly to travel by air as well. Whenever I decided to go on vacation, I was limited to motels plus hotels for my accommodations. Every once in a while you can find a nice hotel in the midst of nowhere, but a bunch of the chain hotel companies totally cut corners with room maintenance. I have stepped into more hotel rooms that smelled of black mold smell than I would care to admit. It’s sort of like these companies suppose they’ll make their money regardless so they don’t really care enough. Even though I had few options in the past, I feel liberated by companies such as AirBnb where I can actually pay the same rates to rent a person’s apartment or household. Of course there are still disappointing accommodations that need to be officially vetted, even though I have had almost exclusively great experiences when I stayed in households during my travels. Sadly, the one I’m in at the moment has a noisy A/C device. I honestly love the view of the ocean here plus the pool in the back, but the A/C device was installed in the closet outside the master bedroom. It has kept me up during the evening hours turning on plus off while it cycles. This is the first time I’ve had anything close to a disappointing experience when renting a person’s place opposed to a hotel room.
