I had no reason to run away from the law.

It seems that every time I turn on the news, all I hear is how someone broke into someone’s beach house and stole something.

I’m sure some of the break-ins were people who couldn’t find labor and needed money to support their families.

This doesn’t make it any better because no matter how you slice it, it is still illegal. Personally, I would rather go on welfare than steal from someone, however not everyone feels that way. Last year I was talking to a single of my neighbors and she told myself and others she had a window air conditioning she was trying to sell. She said she had only used the air conditioning a couple weeks and she was willing to sell it for half of what she paid. I believed in helping my neighbor, so I bought the air conditioning. Two mornings later I had the police knocking on my door. I didn’t have anything to hide, but I also didn’t want to talk to them since they weren’t wearing masks. When I heard them knock again, I opened the door. They saw the AC device and asked where I got it from and why I didn’t answer the door. I told them the story and they were going to handcuff me. I took them to the neighbor who had sold the AC device to me. I’m glad I made him deliver myself and others a receipt. As much as I didn’t want to see him in even more trouble, I wasn’t going to go to jail for break-in and burglary. She was the a single who stole the AC device and lied about it.
