A smart thermostat was a smart choice as a new pet owner

Almost like a parent, I take more comfort in knowing those I care for are protected over my own well being

I’m usually pretty skeptical at first when it comes to hyped information or the notion that something is a big deal, therefore, it deserves your time and investment. So when my good friend from high school was showcasing his smart thermostat app to me, including all these custom heating and cooling settings you can activate remotely, I was impressed, but not sold on it’s necessity. I remember telling him how it serves a convenience and I can see why people would get one, but I didn’t feel like I needed one to fix any immediate issue. Fast forward roughly three months, I’m the owner of a rescue Akita German Shepherd and medium sized house cat. They actually got along pretty well in spite of my concerns. It wasn’t too long before it dawned on me how it was already April with the summer fast approaching, and I’m gone for most of the day between work, the gym, and grocery shopping etc. I don’t care if the house is warm when I get home, but I didn’t want my new pets to have to endure that kind of heat throughout the peak of the day without any kind of relief. Then I figured, I could modify the temperature and utilize the indoor camera to see where they spend most of the time in the house, so I can set the temperature based on the day’s climate and their locations. In less than two weeks, I had the app and thermostat installed. Almost like a parent, I take more comfort in knowing those I care for are protected over my own well being. The newfound responsibility was a sure game changer.
