I won’t forget the time when the A/C quit working at my job
When I was much younger, I had this job working at a retail store.
I actually worked the overnight shift with a couple of other co-workers! For security purposes, the managers basically had to lock us in the building at night.
This meant that all of us were not allowed to go anywhere or get out unless it was a full on emergency. If there was an actual emergency, all of us had to call up the main boss instantly to get us out of the venue. It wasn’t the worst job to have, I just spent my time working on restocking the shelves. I felt like it was fairly comfortable most of the time because all of us constantly kept the temperature control settings at a decent level. I was feeling fine until one day when it became extremely warm in the building in the middle of the night. It was getting so tepid in there plus it seemed as though the air conditioning machine wasn’t really working. The others agreed that all of us were going to collapse from heat stroke if all of us didn’t call the main boss. The people I was with and I got a hold of him plus he agreed that it was an emergency situation because it would be horrible for business if the store was really uncomfortable when it opened in the morning. He absolutely called for emergency Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C services plus had a crew of Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C technicians entirely working on the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C machine in the middle of the night. Because they were able to get the air conditioning machine working again plus the store started to cool off substantially, I made the choice to continue working. The others were too uncomfortable though from being overly warm, so they decided to head back home to get a good amount of rest.
