We thought about getting radiant heated floors
I’ve been talking about this to pretty much everyone I talk to. Every winter, I lament about how frosty our floors are… My floors feel basically like they have ice beneath them plus I need to change it. This past year, I was told I have arthritis in my feet! I actually thought I had broken my toe when I stubbed it early in the warm season… The healthcare worker did some x-rays plus told me the toe wasn’t even broken, however it was arthritic. He pointed out different other parts of my feet that were also having trouble because of arthritis. Bones were being realigned, plus there were spurs all over the little joints plus on the smaller bones. I was in constant pain! Now that the cold season has arrived again, stepping onto those ice-cold floors, is even more painful than it has been in the past. The cold on the floors spreads so much pain throughout my feet that I cannot walk. I cry when even my socks touch the toes or the sides of my feet. My husband needs to put up with my pain, pretty much as much as I do. He advocated the two of us talk to the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C company about having radiant heated floors installed. The expense of a new heating appliance was so exorbitant that the two of us knew we wouldn’t be able to afford radiant heated floors. My husband found heat tapes that we could install beneath our carpeting. The two of us planned on having wall to wall carpeting installed, to supply our feet some additional cushioning. The heat tape could warm the carpeting plus make it far more comfortable for me. The nice part is that the two of us would not need to have the heating appliance on when I had our shoes on. The two of us basically just turned on the heated floor tape during the night hours.
