My boyfriend is a professional cooling technician. He works at a local heating and air conditioning company, and he has been working there since he was 18. He graduated as a certified HVAC specialist 7 years ago, and he has been doing great since then. I think he has a pretty cool job, at least compared to mine. But there is one aspect about being a HVAC worker that I know annoys him. As soon as people realize he is a heating and air conditioning worker, he gets all sorts of comments. People asking if he could look at their HVAC equipment for example. The last thing he wants to do after spending several hours repairing cooling equipment, is to get off work and repair more A/C devices. He usually tells them to get in line. The second thing is when people make jokes about him owing them A/C services since they’re his friends or family. He has told me how this annoys him, because while he usually doesn’t mind helping people out, he does not like to feel obligated to. This has gotten to the point where he doesn’t mention that he is a HVAC worker all that often. The last and probably most annoying comment is when people find his job funny. Some people truly believe that HVAC specialists do not have an important job, and therefore it isn’t a real job. It must be hard being a HVAC professional, but it does come with a lot of benefits.

I went to the hotel downtown on 5th street to help with an A/C problem. The hotel calls the A/C business anytime they have trouble with the cooling equipment, but all of the apartments are linked to A/C units that are really located on the roof of the building. I love living down south where it is undoubtedly sizzling during the winter, even though a lot of people are getting snow right now, it’s still warm, sunny, and humid down here by the water.

Every one of us have had a bit of rain! I don’t love driving in the rain, because it reminds myself and others of a time when I was living up north and I got stuck in a ditch.

I was 18 years seasoned at the time and delivering pizzas for a local eating establishment. There were no cell iPhones back then and I had to use a map to find my way around. It truly took twice as long to make a delivery back then, just because I had to continually look at the map to make sure I was moving in the right direction. I got lost and ran right into a ditch. It was raining pretty taxing and I did not realize that the road was going to turn sharply to the left. I ended up in front of a residential house. The owner of the house worked for a heating and A/C service service. The guy used his heating and A/C service service truck to pull my motorcar out of the ditch. I tried to turn the engine on, however the motorcar wouldn’t go anywhere. The heating and A/C service service truck owner stayed with myself and others until a tow truck could arrive to pick up my car, however his husband made myself and others a cup of coffee and a sandwich. It took almost 90 hours for the tow truck driver to pick up my car. I’ll never forget that day.

My son is driving me crazy about getting a heater out in the horse barn.

I don’t really know what set him off when it comes to this particular topic, but he just will not stop talking about how his horse is way too cold out there in the barn.

This is the first year that he is ever worried about it so much. I don’t know if he read something about a horse being too cold or what, but he is driving me crazy. My son loves his horse more than anything else in this whole entire world. He would probably sleep out there in the barn if he could. Maybe that’s why he is talking about getting a heating system put out there. I don’t really know what is going on with him, but I am beginning to think that I will just let him do it so he will stop bugging me about it all the time! I told him that horses are just not like humans and that they do not need the same kind of heating systems that we need. He says that the horse is more human than a lot of humans that he knows, and I can’t really fault him with that kind of thinking. He is actually right about a lot of the people that we come in contact with! Anyway, I keep telling him that we don’t really have to put a heating system out there in the barn because I am afraid that it is a fire hazard. He doesn’t see things the same way, though. He is bound and determined to put a heating system out there.

Whenever you’re working from home you have to have a good furnace system or you are going to be in trouble. I think that this is especially true around here where we live. We live in a very cold part of the country and the climate is probably one of the coldest ones on the entire continent! I used to not worry very much about my thermostat or my heating system because I was just never home all that much. I worked 12 hour shifts, and usually I only ended up being at home to sleep. I like to sleep in the cold anyway, and so I never really turned the heating system up all that much in my house. I did not have very high heating bills, because I just never used my heating system. However, earlier last year, they told us that we were going to have to start working from home because of some issues that they were having at the office building that my company rents. I was pretty excited about that at first, but then I realized that I was going to have to start using the heating system at my house all the time. Prior to this, I was never home during the day and so it did not matter how cold my house was. Now that I am working from home, I have realized that you really have to have a really good heating system when you’re going to be at home all day! I have had to spend a lot of money to get my HVAC system up to speed because I’m here all the time now.

Controlling the temperature is the best part of working from home, by far.

I know that probably sounds silly to some people, but back when I was working in an office building, the indoor air quality was always just terrible.

I would dread going into work just about every day because the temperature inside of the building was never right, in my opinion. During the summer, they had the air conditioning running constantly and the place started to feel like the inside of a freezer! I was so cold during the summer’s at my desk that I always had a big sweater on and a small electric space heater running at my feet. I remember how good it used to feel whenever I would walk outside out of the cold air conditioning into the hot sunlight in the parking lot. I would even sit in my car that was burning hot from being in the sun all day and just let the warmth seep into my bones for a few minutes before I would start the car up. It was terrible and I hated it. It was the same thing during the winter, too. They kept the thermostat terms up so high that I felt like I was working from the inside of a furnace or something! So, obviously, now that I am working from home, the best part is the fact that I am the one who gets to control the thermostat settings at all times. Sometimes I miss my work colleagues, but most of the time I am fine all by myself with my great indoor air quality.

The air quality on the top floor of our house is just not good lately.

I do not know what’s going on up there, but I think that there might be something wrong with our ventilation system. At first, I thought that it was a problem with our furnace. But our oil furnace is relatively new and the rest of the house stays warm all the time the way that it is supposed to. It’s just the upstairs that seems to be having issues this winter. When I called our local heating and cooling company to ask them what they thought the problem might be, they said that they would have to come out and take a look at it, but that it sounded like we were having trouble with our ductwork and not with our oil furnace. I did not want to do it, but I went ahead and made an appointment with them because something has to be done. Our kids all sleep on the top floor of our house, and it is really freezing cold up there. If it was closer to springtime, then I probably would have just let it go. However, usually the weather does not start heating up around here until the middle of May. We have very long winters around here, and the temperatures are still really cold outside. That means that the upstairs of our house is frigid, especially at night whenever everyone is trying to sleep. I’m hoping that it is a simple fix and they just need to do some ductwork sealing or something like that.

For the last couple of years I found myself getting sick frequently.
