Birds are living on A/C

I just love this part of the state.

It’s so beautiful and rural.

My nearest neighbor is 2 mi away and I really feel like I’m living out in the middle of nowhere. I love seeing all of the wildlife and hearing nothing but birds. It’s just amazing. However, sometimes the wildlife can be a bit of a nuisance too. For example, I really can’t keep any sort of a garden because the deer eat anything I’ve planted. Yes I’ve tried all kinds of fences and deterrence but nothing works. That’s okay though. It’s worth it to live out here. However we do have a bit of a problem right now. A protected bird species has built its nest on our outdoor air conditioning component. We keep it covered during the winter months. But this April, we uncovered the air conditioner and discovered the little bird family living under there. I know these birds are protected and I know it’s illegal to move their nest or anything like that. So there was nothing left for me to do but the cover back on our air conditioner. The only problem is, it’s super hot right now. We literally went from snow on the ground to 80 degree temperatures almost overnight. So I can’t run my air conditioner because the birds are living in it. But I also can’t live in this heat. That’s why I decided to go and get a little window air conditioning unit. I assume the birds will move on in a month or so and then I can use my central air conditioning. But in the meantime, I’m going to have to use a window air conditioner to stay comfortable.
