Why you should have your oil furnace professionally cleaned
Since I’ve purchased my home, I have been learning about all of the maintenance that is required for me to feel completely comfortable with the state of it. One thing that has been on my mind lately has been figuring out how to keep my heater maintained and cleaned. I have an oil furnace, and I’ve never had an experience with one before. Growing up, we didn’t have heat in our home so we usually just used space heaters when it got cold outside. For that reason, having an oil furnace has been a big learning experience. My heating technician is really awesome and has been entertaining all of the questions that have come up since we first started working together, and it’s been a lot of questions. I learned that it’s important for me to have my oil furnace professionally cleaned rather than trying to clean it on my own. I’m glad that he told me that because some blogs that I was reading said that it wouldn’t be a big deal to clean an oil furnace on your own, but I don’t think I would’ve one a great job. There is a lot of dirt, grime, and moisture that builds up inside of a furnace and a trained professional knows the process of how to clean it up in an efficient manner. I don’t know why people go out of their way to redirect people on those blogs. I’ve read some really misleading advice since owning my home, so I’m starting to prefer getting my information from trained local professionals instead.
