Not that he did not think how to use the thermostat, however he couldn't see it.

She is hoping he would’ve walked into the home before I did, saw his shivering, and realized that he had forgotten to change the setting on the thermostat before going to work

I walked into our sibling’s house, and he sat on his couch with blankets wrapped all around her. I looked at his shivering, and I had to chuckle. I asked his why he did not just get up and change the setting on the thermostat, and instead of having the A/C set at 65. She told me his child had set the thermostat at 65 when he went to bed at night, and forgot to turn it back up before he went to work in the afternoon, but once again, I asked his why he did not just change a setting on the thermostat instead of shivering. She offered me a dirty look and told me that it wasn’t that he did not think how to use the thermostat, however he could not see it. I walked over to the thermostat, and reset it to 74. I was sure that with the thermostat being set at 74°, our sibling would soon quit shivering. Instead of saying thank you, he offered me a dirty look. She said now I had ruined all of his plans to make his child recognize guilty. She is hoping he would’ve walked into the home before I did, saw his shivering, and realized that he had forgotten to change the setting on the thermostat before going to work. She hoped he would recognize so guilty with his having to sit in the chair underneath blankets all afternoon long, that he would remember to never do that again. Although he said he enjoyed me, he told me to never touch his thermostat again.
