He wore his HVAC uniform everywhere he went.

For our son’s third birthday, my husband had an HVAC uniform made for him that looked just like his.

He even had his boss make a miniature badge with our son’s name on it.

It took me almost six weeks to get my son out of the uniform. Whether we were going to the grocery store or going to church, he had to have that HVAC uniform on. I was sneaking into his room after he went to sleep so I could get that outfit and wash it. One day, I didn’t get the uniform into his room before he woke up. He was so upset when he woke up and couldn’t find his HVAC uniform, that it took me half an hour to calm him down. I ended up taking him into the laundry room so he could see me take it out of the dryer. He then panicked because his badge wasn’t in his pocket. When we went back to dress, I took his HVAC badge off his dresser and pinned it to his uniform pocket. I was surprised at how quickly he traded his HVAC uniform for the new cowboy outfit his daddy brought home for him. He loved his chaps, vest and boots so much that they completely took the place of his HVAC uniform. I didn’t think he would change his mind so quickly, but then again, he was only three. I hope my husband has some good ideas about what we are going to get him when he tires of the cowboy outfit. I have a feeling his HVAC uniform will be too small for him when he finally decides to wear it again.
