Going into the heating and cooling industry helped pull me out of years of debt
Like most of my college peers, I graduated with tens of thousands of dollars of student loan debt.
Once I had been out into the world for 12 months, they started seeking some of that money back.
Since I had a low paying job at the time and could barely support myself, I had to work out a payment deal to satisfy the government. In addition to student debt, I had already maxed out a credit card and had payment every month for that while the interest kept piling up. When I failed to land a job in my chosen career field from college, I knew I needed to find an adequate substitute and I needed to do it fast. It was a friend of mine who told me to consider the heating and cooling industry. Since he started working for an HVAC supplier he has been given five raises and three promotions. He says that he makes enough money every week to put some aside for his savings account with the cash he’s making. Now that I’ve been working in the HVAC industry for a number of years, I have finally pulled myself out of my debt. It wasn’t easy and it involved a lot of self-control with my spending, but it feels good to finally be free of debt. The heating and cooling world is a great industry to work in because you’ll never be short of demand. It doesn’t seem like indoor climate control is ever going to let up in terms of the rate of expansion across the developing world. Being a heating and cooling tech gives you good job security if you know what you’re doing and have a good relationship with your employers.
