It wasn’t easy working at the HVAC company at first, but I’m getting pretty good at it

It was pretty exciting when I started working for an HVAC company.

I was no HVAC professional but they put me on the phones.

They trained me how to work with the clients and I learned how to set up appointments for various HVAC services. It was also great because we earned commission based on setting up appointments and we would get paid money based on the types of appointments that were set. For example, if we were able to arrange for the installation of radiant heated floors, we would make a lot of money for that because that’s an expensive job. It was tough for me at first because people could tell that I was new at this. I didn’t sound like an HVAC expert at all and often people would ask to speak with somebody else. That killed me because I wasn’t hardly making any commission and I was mostly only getting my base pay for my paychecks. Then a friend at work taught me how to work with people better. He said it was all in my approach and I had to learn how to be a better salesperson. After going with certain advice like developing rapport with the clients and talking about the advantages of different types of HVAC systems, I was able to actually set up some appointments and make sales. Now I have been doing this for a little while and my buddy has been telling me I should go for my HVAC certification because that’s where the real money is at. I think I might just do that.
