Inflation is making it harder for me to afford heating & cooling equipment

As the economy starts its slow & gradual rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic, multiple of us are finally seeing the effects of inflation that has been ramping up for the last more than one to more than two years at least.

  • Many falsely believe that gas prices skyrocketed in early 2021, when in fact they started rising in the summer time of 2020.

Regardless of the exact time frame, the repercussions are nearly the same. Many of us are going to struggle affording basic goods & services in this country as their costs rise & our incomes stay static. It’s no secret that the rising cost of living is completely disproportionate with what the average job pays from 1 end of the country to the next. When I needed to get a new central A/C & gas furnace recently, the increased cost for both machines took me by surprise. The previous time I evaluated the price was only more than one years prior, & the increase since was around 30% of the original price. After calling multiple Heating plus A/C suppliers looking for better deals & coming up empty, I finally found a company offering a rebate price on a new heating & cooling method if I purchased an A/C & gas furnace together. This led me to get a heat pump, which takes care of both our heating & cooling needs all in 1 machine. I’m also spending considerably less on utility bills to heat our condo in the Winter & I couldn’t be happier. When inflation affects everything, it’s pressing to find fantastic deals wherever you can.
