My brother consistently liked to take shortcuts
While our brother & I consistently did well as roommates, there was a single thing about him that consistently drove myself and others crazy, & that was his constant need to take a shortcut.
My brother never liked doing things the proper way, & was consistently looking for something quicker… Even though I have warned him many times in advance that the quick way doesn’t toil nearly as well, he almost never listens to me.
A wonderful example is our heating & a/c. When our previous Heating as well as Air Conditioning component broke down, our brother originally wanted to look for as small & as cheap as a/cs could get. I thought I had convinced him out of that, & I thought both of us had agreed on a standard central a/c. I assume not, because what did I find in our driveway when I was coming home from work? A Heating as well as Air Conditioning van. Apparently while I was gone our brother was having a much smaller & cheaper version of A/C installed. I was rightfully mad at him, but he told myself and others that I just needed to wait & see, & the a/c would toil just fine. In his mind, he thought central a/cs were just another way for Heating as well as Air Conditioning sites to make more money. Surprise, surprise, the modern cooling unit was not up to par, & only worked for about a month before crashing. My brother spent a lot of money attempting to repair it, but in the end, both of us chose to go with our original suggestion of a central cooling system. All of this could have been avoided if he had just listened to myself and others & not taken shortcuts.
