Even the HVAC is a point of contention

I never thought I would be the type of person to get divorced.

To be fair, I never thought I would be the type of person to get married, either.

When I was growing up I swore that I was going to be single for my entire life and I was absolutely happy with that idea. And then I met somebody who completely changed my mind. We got along so great when we were dating that I happily agreed when he suggested we get married. Let me tell you what a mistake that was. Almost as soon as we moved in together I realized that we were not compatible in the least – especially when it came to the heating, cooling, and ventilation program that we were now sharing. It was extremely stressful to realize that we were in charge of this massive furnace and air conditioning unit, not to mention the thermostat and ductwork once our heating, cooling, and ventilation technician had taken a look at the equipment. When we were purchasing the house the realtor insisted that the heating and cooling system was in good shape, but our HVAC worker told us otherwise. We couldn’t afford a brand new heating and cooling system at the moment, so we had to make do with careful thermostat changes and routine heating, cooling, and air quality control appointments. This is when our marriage began to go downhill very quickly. We were constantly at each other’s throats, bickering about the central heating, cooling, and ventilation system. Eventually it got to the point that we had to make a big decision – divorce each other, or separate permanently from this HVAC system. The jury is still out.
