Furnace as well as a/c can’t handle addition

About several years ago, my hubby as well as I invested in an addition for our home, but the people I was with and I wanted each of the kids to have their own private study room.

  • The people I was with and I desperately needed more closet space as well as another lavatory.

The project was luxurious, time-consuming as well as stressful, however my hubby as well as I knew genuinely nothing about designing an addition or how to handle the actual construction. The people I was with and I hired a general corporation who subcontracted work to a licensed plumber, electrician as well as sheet metal fabrication shop. The people I was with and I should have insisted on input from a certified Heating as well as Air Conditioning professional! When the general corporation advocated that both of us extend the HVAC duct as well as utilize the existing oil furnace as well as a/c, both of us trusted his judgement… Designing, fabricating as well as installing a duct system into the addition was fancy. The completion of the pipes delayed the project by several weeks as well as cut into the available space of our floorplan. The people I was with and I lost square footage to accommodate the HVAC duct. The people I was with and I now need to arrange our furniture to accommodate the location of the vents, however once the addition was complete, both of us figured out that the oil furnace as well as a/c are too small to handle the larger square footage. During the coldest weeks of winter, the gas furnace runs non stop, causes sizable energy bills but can’t keep up. The lake house feels freezing no matter how high I adjust the thermostat, and i’ve been forced to invest in space gas gas furnaces to supplement. During the peak of the summer, the central a/c can’t combat the heat as well as humidity. The people I was with and I run box fans to try as well as make the study rooms a little more comfortable.
